Handshake Of Truth

This piece has quite a story behind it. It was originally painted for a famous Hollywood actor. After a number of indifferences, and an agreement to disagree, eventually the painting was bought by a respected political family of the Nigerian oil wells.

The painting was done in 2006, as part of my collection F**k the Art World…Look at the Real World. I’ve never had much trust in the  media and governments. This painting states my opinion of the real reason why over the years, the West has invaded the Middle East. Obviously as time goes by, we learn more and more. In this case, many years after I painted the Handshake of Truth, I still have the same thoughts, but now realizing it’s not just about oil, it’s a lot deeper. Now I believe this with even more passion.
