In 1966

This was a commissioned piece made for auction at the 50 years celebration of the World Cup Winners of 1966, in Wembley Arena in 2016.

As each painting from this collection has ‘writing on the wall’ to tell the story. I waited for the evening of the gala dinner for the actual guest players of the team, Geoff Hurst, George Cohen, Gordon Banks and Jack Charlton, to add their personal signatures, being ‘The Writing’ on this particular wall.

Obviously this adding value to the painting for the auction on the night. The painting sold to a gentleman from NYC. (price disclosed on here)
