The Writing On The Wall - Vol One

This collection has been a pivotal point in all my years of painting.

Heavily influenced by childhood memories and personal emotions, combined with a mix of various subtle techniques from over the last 20 years and a focal theme of “the wall”, in 2015 the collection started its life on canvas.  

A wall has so much significance in life. Walls can be our protectors, keep us safe from the danger on the other side. We build imaginary walls in our thoughts to block out unwanted feelings. History has seen a wall divide a country and separate families.  A wall embraces the very art we create so we can share it with others.

Ultimately we all have our own interpretation of what a wall may mean. In this collection I express my own interpretation with words and body language of the faceless figures to define the significance of the composition and title for each individual finished piece.
